What is going to happen
We are happy to announce our new Staking pool! We took your feedback into consideration and improved the Staking pool. We optimized the contract with less gas fees and the total staked amount in the pool is now displayed. Additionally, the Rewards/sec are now displayed more accurately. On top of that, V2 has 2,000,000 CSPD tokens more for rewards in February.
Migration: What is it and how does it work
Starting from now on, we introduced a migration button, which will move your CSPD tokens from the old pool to the new pool. The migration command will unstake and harvest any rewards you have in the old pool and will automatically stake your unstaked amount in the new pool. For the migration process you won’t pay any unstaking or harvesting fees. The only fees you are going to pay are for the Network fees to migrate. Your unstaked CSPD will be staked in the new pool, but your harvested rewards will be transferred to your wallet. All you have to do is press the “Migrate” button and confirm the txns on Metamask. Scroll down to read the step by step guide for the migration!
What is going to happen with the old pool (v1)
You will soon stop earning rewards on the old pool, so it is recommended to migrate as soon as possible. Your CSPD are safe in V1, but future rewards will be only added to the new pool. On top of that, staking in the old pool will not count towards the CasperPad Tiers. The “Migrate” button will be displayed until the last staker migrates to V2.
Guide on how to migrate to the new pool (V2)
Step 1
Here you can see your staked amount and the rewards in the old pool (V1).
Step 2
Click the “Migrate” button.
Step 3
Confirm unstaking from the old pool by pressing the “Confirm” button in the MetaMask wallet pop-up.
Step 4
Confirm harvesting from the old pool by pressing the “Confirm” button in the MetaMask wallet pop-up.
Step 5
Approve to stake your CSPD token in the new pool by pressing the “Confirm” button in the MetaMask wallet pop-up.
Step 6
Confirm staking your CSPD tokens in the new pool by pressing the “Confirm” button in the MetaMask wallet pop-up.
Step 7
Now your stakes migrated from the old pool to the new pool.
Step 8
Because the rewards are calculated per second, there will be leftover rewards that still need to be harvested, which accumulated from the time of sending the unstake request and the time the unstake txn was approved. You can use the migrate button to harvest them again.
Step 9
Now you can see there is nothing left in the old pool.
Step 10
If you don’t have any funds in the old pool, clicking the Migrate button will show an error message.
You have now succesfully migrated to the new staking pool — V2!
